Olive Chapel Study

General Observations-Loading Process

·        The children waited to be picked up outside the front entrance of the school on the sidewalk in the bay area.

·        A teacher called out with a megaphone the names of the children who were being picked up.

·        Approximately 25 to 30 parents used the visitor’s lot to park and pickup their child instead of using the carpool lane.

·        Pedestrians were more prone to cross the bus lanes as opposed to the active traffic carpool lane.

·        Watches were not synchronized properly between the three data collectors in the carpool lane.
