The
carpool children were split up by ages.Douglas had two different carpools on either side of the school
going on at the same time – one for K-2 and the other for 3-5.
All
the children waited outside on the sidewalk adjacent to the bay area.
There
were several safety patrol kids and they were actually out on the street
assisting walkers.They were not
in the bay area.
There
were a couple of teachers who supervised the whole process in the bay
area.
Several
cars came in and parked and then picked up their children.They entered into the wrong side of the
circle.There were no “No
Entrance” signs to prevent this from occurring.
An AC
unit made communication in the bay area difficult.
Cones put
at the middle to the end of the loading zone to enforce single lane
queuing.

Cars
spilled on to Ortega Rd from 3:38pm to 3:49pm – 11minutes

Many
cars went into the parking during peak, when spillage occurred on Ortega
Rd.
