General Observations-Loading Process

 

• The children were lined up under the overhang in the same order as were the cars in the queue. 
• There were four clearly demarcated bays.  Each bay was marked by paint on the sidewalk.  They were also appropriately spaced so that one car could fit in each marked bay.
• The dismissal times for the children were staggered (i.e. bus riders, car riders and walkers all were dismissed at different times.)
• A teacher goes along the queue and writes down the names of the parents.
• There was another teacher with a microphone and speaker who called out the name of the children.
• There were 6 safety patrol kids present in the bay area.  A few of them were in training.  They were involved in escorting and also opened the car doors for the children.

 

General Observations-Queuing Process

 

• Cars spilled on Pond St from 3:10pm to 3:24pm – 14minutes.
• Queue reached up to the intersection of Pond St and Arrundale Rd.
