CSS National Dialog
Building on CTE’s long experience with delivering CSS training and best practices analyses, the Federal Highway Administration engaged CTE for the CSS National Dialog. Completed in 2010, the primary focus of this project was a series of regional workshops, with a set of case study presentations and discussion panels drawn from the host region. Case studies showcased best practices in planning, project design, programs for project delivery, and organizational and institutional advancements.
The Dialog sought to highlight current activities closely related to the federal emphasis on livability and sustainability, as part of an initiative to promote broader adoption and application of CSS principles at transportation agencies. Five workshops were held across the country and were attended by some 350 professionals, researchers, and students, with many more joining via the Web. A national webcast wrapped up the series.
