The Spatial Data, Research, Training, and Technical Support Program, referred to as Spatial Data for short, represents the program area formerly under ITRE’s Municipal Technical Services Program.
It provides Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technical support to other ITRE projects in addition to outside customers. It is also a source of GIS training. Pavement Management Systems, which in the past was also part of Municipal Technical Services is now part of the Spatial Data program area. There has been no change in the areas of technical support provided by the GIS and Pavement Management programs; rather each has been given broader program responsibilities in terms of expectations for the development of a more research-oriented program group.
