ITRE’s work in visual simulation and modeling has focused on the application of visualization in relation to design and the public involvement process. The VAMS group works with the TRB Visualization in Transportation Committee (ABJ95) on the identification of Research Problem Statements.
The use of visualization in concert with microscopic traffic simulation models (in particular, VISSIM) addresses the operational interaction between visually impaired pedestrians
and vehicles at modern roundabouts.
