Visual Analytics, Modeling, and Simulation (VAMS) Group

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Founded in 1989, the GIS Program at ITRE offers state, local government and transportation agencies GIS training classes, focused geospatial analysis and technical support services.
These include:

• GIS Training
• Geospatial Analysis
• High Quality Cartographic Services

Training

ITRE provides a practical hands-on approach to GIS training. Emphasis is placed on the use of technology and software. ITRE believes that our classes provide students not only with skills but a conceptual base on which students can build further expertise in GIS.

Our training classes provide:

• A "Step-by-Step Guide" and true hands-on approach with one student per       workstation;
• A manageable class size. Each workshop is limited to six (6) people, allowing
      the instructor a chance to offer personalized attention;
• A congenial and relaxed environment for learning, where questions are encouraged       and discussion is centered around your specific needs; and
• The immediate acquisition of technical skills upon completion of the class.

Those who attend GIS classes are:

• Considering using advanced technologies to improve and / or identify more
      productive ways of doing business;
• Seeking to acquire GIS technical skills for their current job; and
• Re-engineering their careers within the expanding geospatial industry.
