Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement (CMV)

ITRE's involvement in the area of commercial motor vehicles is confined in large part to the analysis, program development, and program evaluation support it provides to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) through the Patrol’s a) Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) and b) its Truck Size and Weight Enforcement Program.

These two programs afford ITRE the opportunity to engage in a wide range of issues from traditional motor carrier enforcement to the role of trucking in freight operations and logistics.

ITRE provides interactive maps, tools and reports to assist the NCSHP with decision support efforts for enforcement and infrastructure protection measures of effectiveness.
