Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement (CMV)
ITRE ‘s involvement in the area of commercial motor vehicles is focused in large part on the analysis, program development, and program evaluation support it provides to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) through the Patrol’s Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) and its Truck Size and Weight Enforcement Program.
These two programs provide ITRE the opportunity to engage in a wide range of issues from traditional motor carrier enforcement to the role of trucking in freight operations and logistics.
The CMV Lab is ITRE’s flagship resource for North Carolina truck safety and infrastructure protection.
