Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The GIS program offers extensive technological training courses in its computer lab. Experts in popular GIS software develop customized user applications and generate applied research projects. The Pavement Management program and the GIS program used to be called Municipal Technical Services Program at ITRE and has merged with a larger program group to expand the scope to include Spatial Data research, traning, and technical support. Personnel from each area have been working more closely together during the past few years. Together, they have developed a new pen-top computer application for field data collection inventories; Integrating this technology statewide.

Founded in 1989, the GIS Program at ITRE offers state and local government and transportation agencies training, education classes, and a full range of development services:

  • Training and Education
  • Technical Support
  • GIS Application Development
  • System Training and Development
