The TRM Service Bureau staff at the Institute for Transportation Research and Education (ITRE) reflects a diverse group of talented professionals with backgrounds in planning, engineering, travel modeling, and environmental analysis. Our team brings a proven track record of project management, program implementation, and model development as well as expertise in the planning and implementation of successful modeling applications.

Joe Huegy is Program Manager and responsible for managing the Service Bureau. Joe has 25 years experience in transportation planning, project management and travel forecasting. Prior to coming to ITRE, Joe worked with the Triangle Transit Authority as a Senior Transportation Planner responsible for New Starts modeling.
Mei Ingram is a Senior Research Associate and responsible for advanced model development applications. Mei’s area of specialty is survey data analysis and statistics. She has over 10 years of travel modeling experience, including experience in both the private and public sector. Prior to coming to ITRE Mei worked with NCDOT as a senior modeler for the Greater Charlotte Regional model.
Bing Mei is a Senior Research Associate and responsible for advanced model development applications and research. Bing has over 10 years of experience in travel modeling and transportation planning, including experience with software and programs such as TransCAD, GISDK, TP+/VIPER, CUBE, QRS II, and MINUTP. He has participated in the development and application of regional models, sub-area models, freight forecasting, corridor studies, long range transportation plans, and transit sketch planning. He has also been a lead developer for several GISDK applications. Prior to coming to ITRE Bing worked with the Atlanta office of Wilbur Smith and Associates as a Transportation Modeler and Planner.
Chao Wang is a Research Associate and responsible for advanced model development and applications. Chao has over five (5) years of experience in travel demand modeling and statistical analysis. He also conducts research on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Prior to joining ITRE, Chao worked with the City of Durham as a Transportation Systems Engineer.
