ITRE Test Drives the eGo
April 24, 2008

The Institute for Transportation Research and Education (ITRE) has been given the opportunity to use an electric scooter called the eGO. This running-emission free and nearly silent vehicle can travel more than 20 miles on a single charge, or the equivalent of 800 miles a gallon! The eGo will also provide the Institute with a low-energy transportation option for travel to main campus and nearby clients. The vehicle is GPS-enabled, which will allow us to track its speed, range and acceleration on various roads. The entire package will give ITRE researchers the opportunity to use the eGo in transportation studies to determine if it can be a feasible transportation alternative on a wider scale.
