C.E. "Ed" Vick Jr., PE, AICP
Ed Vick is one of the founders of Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., a Raleigh-based engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firm. As president and chairman, Mr. Vick has directed the expansion of Kimley-Horn's services, which today include transportation planning, freeway management and intelligent transportation systems design, roadway and bridge design, transit system planning and design, parking planning and design, site development, structural engineering, environmental engineering, and airport planning and design. The firm, founded in 1967, currently employs more than 790 people and has offices in 12 states. According to Engineering News-Record, Kimley-Horn was ranked among the top 100 pure design firms in the nation in 1997.
During his 40-year career, Ed Vick has developed transportation plans for central city areas in Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville, and Asheville, North Carolina; Charlottesville and Roanoke, Virginia; Knoxville and Memphis, Tennessee; and Greenville, South Carolina. He has directed master and functional planning for parking facilities in Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Tampa, Miami, and dozens of other cities. Mr. Vick also has provided traffic engineering consultation, conducted safety and operation studies, and contributed to the design of signal systems for cities throughout the Southeast.
