Triangle Regional Model Service Bureau (TRMSB)

The Triangle Regional Model Service Bureau was started in 2004 to develop, improve, and maintain the Triangle Regional Model (TRM) - a tool for analyzing current and future travel in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina.  The Service Bureau is part of the TRM Model Team which also includes staff from three stakeholder agencies.  The Model Team is guided and supported by four stakeholder agencies:

The Triangle Regional Model is a predictive model that can be used to forecast automobile, transit, commercial vehicle, and non-motorized travel given a set of population and economic forecasts. It can be used to analyze peak period or daily travel for system-wide transportation planning and air quality analysis.

The Service Bureau provides technical assistance for running the Triangle Regional Model as well as participates in research on transportation and travel behavior topics.
