2010 Highway Capacity Manual Update Workshop

Engineers and transportation planners familiar with the Highway Capacity Manual, used for "evaluating the multimodal performance of highway and street facilities," will find that the fifth edition is a significant revision from the previous edition. The 2010 Highway Capacity Manual (HCM2010) incorporates "the latest research on highway capacity and quality of service" as well as a reorganization which will make it more accessible and understandable.

This one-day workshop will provide an overview of changes in the HCM2010 with an emphasis on new methodologies and differences from the 2000 manual. It is expected that the HCM2010 will be available for purchase from TRB by late 2010. This workshop will provide a sneak peak of the new material and will include the following:

Each participant will receive 7.0 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) which will be noted on his or her training certificate.

The one-day HCM2010 workshop will be offered multiple times. All courses will cover the same content. Interested participants should register for one of the following options:

Group Rate

A discounted group rate of $50 per person for organizations that register five or more attendees for any of the HCM2010 training dates listed above. Course Instructors

This workshop will be primarily taught by ITRE staff Robert Foyle, P.E. and Bastian Schroeder, Ph.D., who are both members of the TRB Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service (AHB40).
