Environmental Analysis Tour

Hosts:  Illinois DOT, Chicago District Office
The ADC10 tour offers an onsite opportunity to visit and view selected specific ongoing projects in a context sensitive arena, as well as completed results in transportation environmental sustainability.  The focus will be projects with specific historic, cultural and community context sensitive settings of metropolitan Chicago with their ongoing or completed environmental initiatives.  The tour begins as we drive west to view various locations of Chicago's  Gateway Green expressway public-private partnership initiatives.  It then will feature the Dan Ryan Expressway, including its Air Quality Monitoring Program and a stop & stretch with presentation about Emergency Traffic Patrol and also environmental aspects associated with the Kingery Expressway, Dan Ryan and South Lake Shore Drive projects.  We then continue to the South Lake Shore Drive project viewing the results of its completed construction integrated with parkland and exposure to Lake Michigan and its beaches within a metropolitan setting.  We then return via Lake Shore Drive to the Renaissance Chicago Hotel.
